Beta tested since June of 2007, Google now makes available TV ads to all who desire, within the US.
First thing you’ll need is a TV commercial. Don’t have one? Then go to Google’s Ad Creation Marketplace, where you can connect with industry professionals who provide script writing, editing, production, and voice-over talent at a very affordable cost. There is no cost to search for specialists and send them requests for project bids, and you aren’t under any obligation to work with them until you accept a bid.
To celebrate the launch, for a limited time Google will cover the cost of creating your TV ad through the Ad Creation Marketplace, up to $2,000. Learn more here.
You can choose the networks and dayparts on which you’d like your ad to run. If you’re looking for guidance on how to best reach your target audience, TV Ads offers recommendations based on audience demographics, or you can request a free customized campaign proposal. You can also run your ads during specific television programs that are relevant to your product or service.
The Google TV Ads’ auction model allows you choose the maximum cost-per-thousand impressions that you’re willing to pay, and you only pay when your ad airs.

As much as I hate paying almost $4.00 a gallon for gasoline, at least my income does not directly take a hit when the price or gasoline increases. This cannot be said for many small business owners. Those who must travel the roadways daily to earn their living are surely going to start feeling the pain, if they have not already done so.
It’s not just the community businesses that will be affected. The tourist industry is expecting to take a major hit as well and this could affect more small businesses than those that have to travel to earn a living. SBTV.com reported the number of Americans making plans to take a vacation over the next six months has fallen to a 30-year low according to the leading business membership and research organization, The Conference Board.
This means reduced revenue for many thousands of small businesses around the country that rely on vacationers to supplement the coffers. Sadly, the ever increasing cost of fuel does not seem to be reversing trend anytime soon.
The out of control cost of gasoline can have price increasing affects on a wide variety of products and services we all need. Hopefully this petroleum inflation will be just a season. Otherwise, it could be a long hard winter for many of us.
Spending on online promotions such as sponsorships, discounts, coupons, rebates and contests came in at $8 billion in 2007 which is approximately the same amount that was spent on email marketing. promotional spending is expected to approach $22 billion by 2012 passing all other forms of Internet based advertising.
This information comes from a 39 page report by online advertising analyst Borrell Associates titled, Online Promotions: The Big Shift. Borrell’s report stated that last year, local businesses spent $806 billion on advertisings and promotions. Roughly $323 billion went toward traditional ads, while nearly 60 percent went toward promotions.
I find this very interesting since the vast majority of small business owners that I interact with are doing NO Internet marketing at all. Those that are marketing on the Internet are doing only the very basics. Nothing anywhere near what this report suggest.
You know what that means? These dollar amounts are literally a drop in the bucket compared to what is possible once the smallest and most local of businesses start expanding their advertising dollars online.
Recently I did something I have not done in quite some time. I set Google news alerts for some search marketing related phrases just to see which sites/bloggers are on the radar. I do this from time to time just to see what conversations are being conveyed in the SEO field. Just like all of the times before, it seems that the conversations are basically the same. To some bloggers, SEO is never changing.
In one day, I read several posts from different SEO blogs all stating the same old “Content is King” message. This made me realize, content is only King if it is new, fresh and original. You would think those so called SEOs would know this but apparently, many do not.
In all reality, fresh new original content is great, but in today’s search results, links are King. I have not heard that statement yet so I thought I would try to start a new trend in SEO. So, all of you content rehashing SEO bloggers, write about that.
You see, your great content filled website will rank very well in Google until competition comes along with a significant number of links, some carrying authority, and blows past you like you never existed. For those SEO bloggers who are still writing posts that have been written a gazillion times before, get a life. Actually do some SEO work on a website. This will keep you busy and you will have literally no time to blog about anything.
My SEO work is the biggest obstacle to my own personal blogging here on this site. That is probably a good thing. I only write what needs to be said.
Constant Contact Inc., a leading provider of email marketing and online surveys for small organizations, announced today that local small business expert, Lisa Sparks, is leading free email marketing seminars in the South Florida area.
I have used Constant Contact in the past and have been very pleased with their service and their customer service. For those living in the South Florida area, this is a tremendous opportunity. Email marketing is one of the most affordable forms of Internet Marketing available to small business.
It is not often that I endorse any product, however, after reading this news release today I just had to spread the word.
I found this list online and thought it would make a great series of posts for those who need a little motivation and common sense. The site is run by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Blog Comments are the easiest way to get juiced one way links and engage readers who might just give your site/blog a visit. All I ask is keep the comments on topic or else they will be deleted.
