ReachLocal :: Some Things To Consider
By on Apr 3, 2009 in SEO Blog
More than any other local search “company”, ReachLocal comes up repeatedly. Most of the small business owners I speak with have had a call by ReachLocal. To summarize their statements:
Promises to rank for their business name. – Very lame.
Guarantees of high traffic. – Guarantees are verbal and not written.
High pressure sales tactics. – Just another product to sell.
If you are interested in paying twice what you need to for what is essentially a PPC campaign controlled by a bot analytics program, ReachLocal may be for you. Their geo targeting is consistently wrong. Cost per click is almost always higher than a comparable Adwords campaign. They basically duplicate your website and splash a 1 800 number at the top of your “page” sending traffic through their funnel instead of yours.
The most irritating part, cold calls!
This I can promise. If we have a discussion about my services, I will not hound you about signing up. If you are interested and need my services, a few discussions about your business will solidify the decision to work with me or someone else.
I am not an “agency”. I do not practice high pressure sales tactics. I do not guarantee results or promise results that I cannot deliver. I simply evaluate your web rankings, evaluate your competition and report the possible results based on my experience and abilities.
As for ReachLocal, they can’t compete with me.
